As you may have noticed, I’m pulling for Buffalo Bills receiver Dez Lewis to carve out a role in this team’s offense. It might have to do with his underdog story of being drafted in last years seventh-round or because he was a highly productive player in the college ranks.
While both factors are nice, what it really boils down to is Lewis having the size, speed and athleticism to be a successful receiver in the NFL. Standing at 6’4, Dez runs a 4.4s 40-yard dash and has plenty of athleticism to high-point the football. A big red-zone target is something the Bills have lacked for years which makes his recent development all the more timely.
Here you can watch Lewis making a circus catch on BillsFanatics IG account and below is a clip of him running through some offseason training with Raw Power Sports, courtesy of bobby b on Twitter. #BillsFanatics

Plenty of the drills in this one minute video aren’t unusual to football players, but it’s interesting to see some of the behind-the-scenes work put into mastering their craft and especially when they’re not with their team. Activities like the trapeze, climbing rope or catching tennis balls off a wall aren’t the first workouts you typically think about when it comes to an NFL players grind.
So far, it looks like Dez Lewis’ hard work in the offseason is paying off as he’s been mostly running with the first-team offense and playing well. He will need to keep improving though with talent like Greg Little, Leonard Hankerson and Marquise Goodwin fighting for the same job.
